"I met Matt through a group we both belong to which helps therapeutic practitioners grow their skill, through practice and skill-sharing. I found Matt to be very grounded, open and honest. He always allows you to decide what you want to work on, and then guides you gently to consider the areas that will help you, according to your needs. I know Matt does a lot of work with NLP, and I have learnt some really useful NLP practices from him during our Zoom sessions. He showed me how one in particular called ‘anchoring’ works, which can help in moments of stress, and where we need to regain our sense of order and balance. He did this in a very easy step by step way, encouraging me to really feel the process and by working at a realistic pace. I found this a really interesting technique and I continue to use it if I feel a bit stressed or out of kilter!
Matt also helped me explore an area that I was looking to work on, by asking certain questions, which were thought provoking, and in some cases, were things I hadn’t really thought very much about. He allowed me time to gather my thoughts and we then had a very helpful dialogue around my responses. This helped me to consider some things that I could do, to help me work through things I was having difficulty with. Matt also appreciated that sometimes it’s hard when we are honest with ourselves, but if we are honest, this actually helps us to find ways to move forward. Matt likes to have your feedback when you work with him, so he knows he is working in tune with you and always encourages you to try any practice in a way that works for you. It’s been really enjoyable working with Matt, and it’s been very helpful for me, to be able to practice EFT Tapping (which is my area of practice) with him, and discuss various connections with therapies, how they work and the way they can support people. I look forward to continuing learning and practising with Matt in the future." - From Carol
